Mariners vs Blue Jays : 3 - 12

Roy Halladay allowed two earned runs over seven innings and got plenty of support from the American League's top-hitting team as the Toronto Blue Jays beat Seattle 12-3 on Tuesday night to snap the Mariners' three-game winning streak. Halladay (13-2) gave up three runs and nine hits, walked one and struck out six. The All-Star allowed two baserunners over the first four innings and retired seven in a row before Seattle scored two runs in the fifth.

Gil Meche (9-5) allowed a season-high seven runs and 10 hits in 4 1-3 innings. The right-hander, who had won a career-high five straight decisions, had four walks and five strikeouts.

John McDonald hit the first grand slam of his career, and second home run of the season, off Emiliano Fruto in the ninth to make it 12-3. Consecutive doubles in the third by Reed Johnson and Frank Catalanotto gave Toronto a 1-0 lead. The Blue Jays made it 3-0 in the fourth on a two-run double by Aaron Hill. Toronto then batted around in its four-run fifth. Troy Glaus had a bloop single over the outstretched arm of All-Star second baseman Jose Lopez to drive in Johnson and give the Blue Jays a 4-0 lead. Eric Hinske doubled down the right-field line on Meche's 98th -- and final -- pitch to score Lyle Overbay and Glaus. An intentional walk to Hill by left-hander Jake Woods reloaded the bases and McDonald, the No. 9 hitter, walked to make it 7-0.

In the bottom half of the inning, Carl Everett reached base on a throwing error by shortstop McDonald and Kenji Johjima singled. Both scored on Yuniesky Betancourt's double. Catalanotto hit his seventh homer leading off the sixth. Adrian Beltre's added a two-run single for Seattle in the sixth. Toronto was without All-Star outfielder Vernon Wells for the second straight game because of a sore back.
