Combinatie vrouwen Zauchensee

Julia Mancuso pipped Lindsey Kildow by 0.06 seconds as the USA pulled off a memorable one-two in Sunday’s super combined event in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee. Overall world cup leader Marlies Schild of Austria finished third after Swedish rival Anja Paerson was disqualified.

Former overall World Cup champion Paerson, fourth after the first leg, had the best slalom pedigree of the leaders but missed a gate just metres from the finish line after setting a fast intermediate time.

Mancuso, the fastest woman from the opening downhill leg, held on to the lead in the slalom to beat team-mate Kildow by the narrowest of margins.

Schild was elevated to the podium after finishing 0.83 seconds behind Mancuso following the disqualification of Paerson. Another American, Resi Stiegler, took fourth.
